Raelin's 1st Trip to Boston

This past week Raelin and I were able to go to Boston and meet Trev there while he was on port-a-call. Let me tell you it's crazy all the stuff you pack when you have a baby lol! It was well worth it and we were happy to see him.

Daddy's Corner

Hello from the Atlantic Ocean.  I am currently underway on the Cutter Northland and it is the first time that I have been underway since Raelin was born.  Not like it was long after she got here but she has become a big part of my life in such a short amount of time.  I am truly missing my family this underway, but at least it is going to be short and at least two women I love more than anything in my life will be waiting for me in Boston.

To back up a bit and recap on things since my last Daddies Corner.  Raelin was born!  I thought of myself as a squeamish kind of guy when it comes to human anatomy.  They could have made baby making words easier to listen to, but I am beyond that now.  I thought I was going to be up by Misty's head the entire time coaching her during the birth.  What I wasn't counting on was her curling up during the pushes and the view that I got!  I was able to watch every bit of my daughter's birth.  It was, in a word, amazing!  I was even able to cut the cord without hitting the floor.

Since the birth, I was able to watch her grow in just the 25 days we were together.  I was able to feed her by bottle before I deployed.  I was able to watch her start to smile (though in her pictures, her smile is much bigger).  All this time, we were able to go out into and introduce Raelin to the world and she always seemed to be on the best behavior of any baby ever!  She was able to meet most of her extended family including her cousin Dusti Rose.

Lastly, I was really happy that Misty and Raelin were able to see me off on this deployment.  I know that they will be there for all future deployments and They will be missed by me on any deployment I go on.  I can only hope it is a fast deployment and I get to see them as soon as I can.  I miss you my loves, and can't wait to see you again!

Raelin's First Month

This month has flown by. I'm happy to be seeing her grow so much but sad at the same time. Her one month check up was just the other day and she's 10lbs 11 oz. and 22 inches long. She had her hearing test also and passed with flying colors :)

I love watching her sleep and catching those little smiles. I wanna know what she dreams about :) 

playing on her mat, she prefers 2 of the toys over the other 2 so she scooted down from the middle to play with them. She also started looking at the mirror on it too

first time she took her pacifier...she really hasn't taken it too much since



she enjoys sucking on her fingers though

she fell asleep in my arms and I wanted to organize her room so I laid her in her crib and slept for a good 20 min. I know she'll love sleeping in her room when that times comes.



 

 

When we saw this, Trev and I just had to laugh, she's just chillin' in her bassinet with her legs crossed

 

 

never getting sick of those :) 



 caught her sucking on her thumb for the 1st time and let me sleep in a couple extra minutes :)



 

it looks like she's mad but she's actually kind of giggling and making baby noises lol



 

 

she's already trying to tell daddy what to do lol

Raelin's 1st bath. She really enjoys it until she has to get out. It was cute the 2nd time we gave her a bath she slept 1/2 way though it :P
